Disable Unwanted Startup ProgramsĪt the time of booting up your computer, the startup programs activate themselves and each of them takes a little bit of your RAM. Identify things you don’t use and flip them Off. To counter this, disable the apps you don’t use to run in the background. Go to Settings and click on Privacy from the left bar, select Background Apps. Needless to say, this eats up a lot of your RAM memory. Some applications keep running in the background from the moment you boot up your computer, whether you use them or not. That includes both the programs that came with Windows 10 and anything you’ve installed but dont have any use for anymore. While you can’t delete them all, the good news is, most of them are user-removable. Windows 10 comes with a myriad of unnecessary services and bloatwares. When you restart your machine, everything from its last session gets cleaned up from its memory, giving you a temporary RAM boost. Thus you can give your Windows a fresh new start by restarting it every once in a while. The longer your computer runs, the more bloated its memory gets. If it’s on the lower side, lower than 1GB for example, you need to free up some RAM. There in the memory section you’ll see how much memory you have left. Go to Task Manager and click on the Performance tab as shown in the picture below. Before trying to decrease your RAM usage, we recommend you to check if that’s the case. If you are noticing laggy or choppy system performance, there’s a good chance that you are running low on system memory.
